System Limitations

We can't guarantee that you'll always get the best possible price, especially for advance tickets, but we do try our hardest.
Sometimes we may give you an itinerary that includes extra changes that don't seem necessary. This is because of a limitation in the rail planning systems that we use. If you are using an advance ticket for that leg, you must follow the itinerary with the changes you are given. However, if you are using a flexible ticket, you may ignore extra changes as long as the time restrictions for the ticket allow it. These restrictions are always shown to you on the journey details and booking confirmation pages.

Because of limitations in the rail seat booking systems, through seat reservations are not always possible (although we try hard to provide them). If you find that you have reservations in different seats, it is perfectly OK to sit in an unreserved seat for the entire journey (if you have flexible tickets). You will almost certainly be OK to do this with advance tickets as well, although technically the guard could ask you to move to your reserved seat.
